Curled together in the comfort of your bed, we are reduced to flesh on flesh, melted into one

A tender declaration slipped through your lips, “I would carve out a piece of my ribs for you”

If I could only come a little closer, feel a little more serene, such a sacrifice would be an honor

I came to ponder Eve’s creation- born from bone protecting her lover’s heart; maybe we are cut from the same divine cloth, too
